A l’intersection de "Wild Wild West", "Les 12 salopards" et "L'Exorciste", la série conçue par Nury et Dorison et mise en images par Christian Rossi est une véritable r-é-u-s-s-i-t-e !
Ce premier tome d’un nouveau diptyque le confirme avec force et vigueur. Si tout paraît rose entre les auteurs, pour Morton Chapel, c’est le noir qui domine. Un noir profond. Jugez un peu : le lecteur découvre avec stupéfaction que le chef emblématique de l’agence W-E-S-T ("Weird Enforcement Special Team") a assassiné sa femme, s’apprête à recommencer avec sa fille quinze ans plus tard, est pourchassé par ses propres hommes chargés de l’éliminer, et se vide de son sang suite à un vil coup de couteau. Lorsque l’on apprend que l’on baigne en plein paranormal, que toute l’affaire tourne autour de possession et du démon Seth, on se rassure quelque peu, sans pour autant envier la position de Chapel.
Cette trame, très prenante, voire carrément haletante est magnifiée par le formidable travail de Rossi. Superbes lavis, cadrages originaux, découpage inventif, parfaite maîtrise de la lumière, dessin précis et soigné, tout concourt à faire de Megan un album mémorable.
